Why Do You Want To Use Our Age Calculator By Date Of Birth?
One of the things that you may not know is that your age can be counted in a different way depending on the culture. While our Chronological Age Calculator is based on the most common age system where your age grows at your birthday, this is not the way it is seen in other cultures.
In some cultures, for example, your age is only expressed by the years that you have without any influence of the current year. Let’s take a look at a practical example so you can easily understand what we mean.
According to some cultures, when you are 20 years old, you will be in your twenty-first year of life. This is the case of the traditional Chinese age system. According to their culture, people are born with 1 year and the age grows up in the Traditional Chinese New Year. If you think about a baby that is born the day before the Traditional Chinese New Year, just 2 days later the baby will be 2 years old even though he is only 2 days old. On the other hand, if the baby is born 2 days after the Traditional Chinese New Year, the baby will be 1 year old.
But the Traditional Chinese culture is not the only one that is different. For example, in Eastern Mongolia, the traditional way to discover how old someone is is related to the number of moons since the birthday. And there is a difference between boys and girls. In the boy’s case, they need to count the new moons and on the girl’s case, they need to count the full moons.
What Is Chronological Age?
Your age is something that you are either proud off and you try to hide from everyone else. Nevertheless, your age is usually related to your life’s experience, wisdom, and values.
Simply put, the chronological age refers to the amount of time that you have been alive. So, this is exactly the same as saying that your chronological age refers to the number of days, months, and years that you have been alive.
However, we don’t always look the chronological age that we have. You probably already found people who think you are younger or older than you really are. And this is related not to your chronological age but to your own lifestyle.
The reality is that everyone ages at a different rate. You may have exactly the same age as someone else and you may age rapidly or at a more gradual pace than this other person.
The Difference Between Chronological Age And Biological Age
The reality is that all human beings have two different ages: the chronological age and the biological age. As you already know, you can easily determine your chronological age by using our age calculator by date of birth. You just need to add your birth date to our calculator at the top of this page and you’ll know exactly how many days, hours, and minutes you have been alive.
However, when you are talking about your biological age, this is different. The truth is that the biological age that is also sometimes referred to as the psychological age, includes many different factors such as your sleeping habits, exercise habits, your diet, your levels of stress, among many others.
As we already mentioned above, we all age at different rates. You may be 30 years old and appear to be 22 or you may be 30 years old and appear to be 40. And this is beyond your control.
The truth is that your biological age is mainly influenced by your genetics. Nevertheless, there are some studies that point to the fact that there are some external factors that influence your biological age. These include smoking, stress, exercise, and diet. This is one of the reasons why most gerontologists believe that the chronological age is not a complete figure. After all, it doesn’t include all these factors that tend to influence the way you look and feel.

Why Should You Calculate Your Chronological Age Manually?
The truth is that although calculating your chronological date may seem easy to do manually, the reality is that it can get a bit tricky. After all, just take a look at the 12 months of the year. You have several months that are 30 days, others that are 31 days, and then you still have February. As you know, and depending on the year, February may have 28 or 29 days. As a note, February has 29 days every 4 years.
As you can see, and even though you know your birth date, it would be a bit tricky to determine exactly how many days, hours and minutes you are. After all, you would need to take into account all these differences in the length of each month. While we don’t say it’s impossible, it can be a bit complicated and it would surely take you a lot of time.
